We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Duke Funeral Home
Arlene Amelia Lowe (Knowles) passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 5, 2022 after a short illness. Arlene was born 93 years ago at her parent’s farmhouse in LaGrange Township. Her family was an integral part of the LaGrange community since the early founding days and many relatives can be dated back to the 1700s. She attended and graduated LaGrange High School (now Keystone High School). Arlene briefly left the area, but then returned to reside in LaGrange for the past 48 years. Arlene and her husband, Bob, enjoyed traveling and camping throughout the country. Her other hobby was cooking and could always be found making enough food to feed an army. When friends would come to visit, we often said they should have been weighed upon arrival and then weighed, again, when ready to leave. Guaranteed, they gained several pounds! Survivors are her husband, Robert, daughter Jeanne McMahan of LaGrange and granddaughter Lesley Allison (Harry Allison) of Pittsburgh, PA. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents Leslie John Knowles and Alta Fae Knowles (Gott) and sister Elizabeth Clifford (Lawrence Clifford) and nephews Jack Clifford and Ron Clifford. Visitation will be held in the Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main Street, Grafton, OH on Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 12 noon in the funeral home. Interment services will immediately follow at the River Road Cemetery LaGrange Township.
