Carolyn Mihalega Obituary

Carolyn Marie Mihalega, beloved wife of Will, passed away on April 29, 2020 at the age of 58. Carolyn was the cherished daughter of Thomas and Elvyn Piascik, (both deceased), daughter-in-law of William, Sr. (deceased) and Sally Mihalega. She was a caring sister of Linda Gessner (Bob), Patricia Pender (Bill), Thomas Piascik, Jr. (deceased), David Piascik (Moira), loving sister-in law to Annamarie Leithauser (Jeff) and John Mihalega. Special aunt to Cassie (Dave), Anda (Chris), Jessica, Caitlin (Aaron), Justin (Anna), Meghan (Bill), Danielle, Nicole, Liam, Hanna (Dakota), Adam, Maria, and Walter. Great aunt to Kayla, Alanna, Adriana, Jadyn, David, Dominic, Kenai, Amelia, and Ellie. Viewing services will be held at Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main Street, Grafton on Monday May 4, 2020 at 6 PM for the immediate family only, 7 PM for all extended family members. Private memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at 11 AM for immediate family only. Due to concerns of Covid 19 virus, we have been asked to limit attendance at the funeral home and we are asking that no children attend. Family and friends who are unable to join the family at the viewing are invited to a graveside service. The service will take place at Sunset Memorial Park 6265 Columbia Road, North Olmsted on Tuesday immediately after the private memorial service. Should you wish to be part of the procession with the family to the memorial park, please meet at the funeral home at 11:30 AM and remain in your car, or you may join us directly at the graveside at approximately 12:15-12:30 PM. Carolyn wanted this time with family and friends to be a happy celebration with memories, not tears. She wished that all who attend wear bright and colorful clothing as she liked to celebrate her life. She wished to thank all her many friends who shared her journey, including doctors and nurses with the lung transplant and surgery team, and the staff on J8-2 where she spent many days over the past 3-1/2 years. The family requests no flowers. If you wish to make a donation in Carolyn’s name, please donate to transplanthouseofcleveland.org. Online condolences may be left at funeral home website www.dukefuneralhome.com.
