Christopher Ryan Papes, 34, passed away at Keystone Pointe H&R Lagrange, Ohio on Friday, February 27, 2026.
Chris was born February 15, 1992 in Pasadena, Texas. While still an infant, he moved with his family to Ohio, where he lived most of his life. He lived in Vermilion, Elyria, Avon, Wellington, and Lagrange. Chris enjoyed Culinary Arts and graduated from the JVS Program in 2011. He attended Vermilion and Avon schools and graduated from Midview High. Chris took pride in learning how to ride a motorcycle and he dreamed of becoming a police officer or serving in the military. He enjoyed listening to music, playing video games, drinking craft beers, and smoking cigars. He had a hilarious sense of humor and was an awesome uncle.

Papes (Kourtni Davis) of Garden City, Michigan; Jeffrey T. Dycus of Brooklyn, New York; sister, Alyssa M. Landrum of Dyersburg, Tennessee; brothers, Frank, Evan, Robert, Steven; sister, Kaylee; nephews, Koda, Mylo, Crew, Robbie, Jude; nieces, Willow, Ella Kate, Sophia, Nevaeh; uncle, Phillip A. Shaffer (Lisa); aunts, Pamela S. Boreman (Bob), Penny S. Rockwell (Jerry); aunts, Missy Thomason, Sue Thomason, Lisa Wiley, Kim Perry (Bobby); uncle, Kenny (Julie); aunts, Stephanie, Amy (Greg); grandparents, Kenneth Haines and Fran Haines. Preceded by: grandparents, Edward and Patricia Papes; grandparents, Ronald Thomason and Judith Thomason.
