Cordelia Ruth Walko, 91, of Penfield, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 26, 2020. Born July 13, 1928, Cordelia was the daughter of the late Ferman and Garnet (nee Kendall) Miller. She was born in Dart, Ohio and graduated from Salem Liberty High School. Cordelia moved to the Elyria area after high school and worked at the Colson company where she met the love of her life, Frank Walko.
Cordelia enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, sewing, and was a member of the Penfield Quilters. She loved sports and followed all the sports and activities of her grandchildren.
Cordelia is survived by her children Frank M. of Wellington, Elaine (James) Shiells of Myrtle Beach SC, James (Joy) of North Canton, Gloria (Roger) Mick of Pittsfield, Edwin of PawPaw MI, and Paul of Wellington, thirteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and sisters Nina Speicher and Shirley Weckbacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Frank, and siblings George, Pearl, Zettie, Marjorie, and Wilbert.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 31, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 1, from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. at Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main St., Grafton, OH, 44044. Pastor Tom Keller will officiate. Burial will follow at Penfield Cemetery.
