Diane Plavny (Shavor), 70, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 29, 2026. She was born February 8, 1956, and was a devoted wife to Mike Plavny, whom she married August 23, 1987.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, William and Alice Shavor; and her brothers, Mike and Billy Shavor.
She was a loving mother to John Calabrese (Angela), Angel Jones (Richard), Tammy Calabrese (Demetric), Melissa (Plavny) Detray (Scott), and Jason Plavny (Renee). She was also a proud grandmother of 14 and great-grandmother of 11, cherishing every moment spent with her growing family.
She worked for 17 years at Beckett Thermal Solutions, where she was deeply loved by her coworkers. Diane had a gift for friendship and was known for her ability to love people very well. A passionate fan of the Cleveland Browns, she also enjoyed attending car shows with her husband, Mike, supporting his love for their Mustang while dreaming of owning a 1957 Chevy of her own. She loved sharing stories, spending time with family, and making trips 'down home' to southern Ohio.
Her love will continue through the lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held on June 13 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Rossway Event Center. All are welcome. Light snacks will be provided.
