Donald Simon Fleischer, a vibrant and spirited 88-year-old of Grafton, OH, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer at the Hospice of the Western Reserve Ames House. Born on September 11, 1936, in Cleveland, OH, to Simon and Anna Fleischer, Donald dedicated his life to education as a high school teacher and wrestling coach, notably founding the wrestling program at Columbia Station Middle School.
A passionate fitness enthusiast, he spent his days at the gym and cherished fishing from his boat. Donald loved attending his grandsons' soccer games, proudly cheering them on.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jennifer Fischbach, sisters Gloria and Marianne, ex-wife Kathie Cicerchi (Martin), and his beloved corgi, Poppy. He is survived by his daughters, Karen Manda of East Stroudsburg, PA, and Elizabeth Castaneda of Grafton, OH; sister Margaret Garland of Atlanta, GA; 11 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren who will always cherished.
Services will be held Saturday August 9, 2025at 1 PM in the Church of the Open Door 43275 Telegraph Rd. Elyria, Ohio .
