Eileen Hahn Obituary

Eileen L. Hahn, 98, entered the gates of heaven on Sunday, December 8th surrounded by the love and gratitude of her family.

Eileen was born July 22, 1926 to Norman and Mildred Reisinger. Eileen graduated from Belden High School in 1945. In 1951, Eileen married Nyle Hahn and together raised 4 children.

Eileen was employed by the Bendix corporation and then Midview Schools —as a lunchroom monitor at Belden School and then retired from Grafton Elementary. However, her greatest pride and joy was raising her children and celebrating her grandchildren.

An accomplished musician, Eileen enjoyed playing piano, organ, and tenor saxophone. She led worship on the organ as a member of the Belden Methodist Church for many, many years and sang in the church choir. Eileen also performed in the Ray Sullinger and Gary France square dance bands for many years and continued playing in the Litchfield town band until her early 80’s. She was also a member of the Norm Reisinger Orchestra, led by her father.

Eileen was proceeded in death by her husband, Nyle, in 2003; brother Merle Reisinger, and both parents. Left to cherish her memory and uphold her legacy of love and service are sons Robert (Bonnie) of Cincinnati, Ohio , Thomas, and Martin, of Elyria, Ohio and daughter Jean (Jerry) Szczepanski, of Grafton; grandchildren Erin (Shawn) Hampson of Blue Ash, Oh, Staci (Jeff) Crabeels of LaGrange, Bryan (Michelle) Szczepanski of Grafton, and Nic Hahn of Litchfield ; great grandchildren Callie and Kendal Crabeels, Ben, Ava, and Emma Szczepanski, and Kaden Tims as well as half-sister Sandy Reisinger.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Life Care of Elyria, especially Reggie, Monique, Marqray, and Jenny for their endless care and compassion.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 12 at Grafton Township Fire Station from 3-7pm. A service of remembrance will be held Friday, December 13th at 11am at Belden Methodist Church. Graveside service will be held immediately after at Nesbett Cemetery. Eileen’s granddaughter Staci Crabeels, lay servant, will officiate.
