Gary Stokley Obituary

Gary A. Stokley, age 81 of Elyria passed away on Monday September 30, 2019 in the University Hospitals Elyria Regional Medical Center following a long illness.He was born May 16, 1938 in Elyria and was a life long resident. He was formerly employed by Kirkwood Industries in Cleveland . He served in the US Air Force and  Gary and his wife Barb owned and operated Stokley's General Store in Grafton.  Gary was a volunteer at Elyria Memorial Hospital. Gary also worked at the Boyer & Cool Funeral Home in Lorain and was very active at  Twin Lakes in Elyria. He was a platelet donor for many years and enjoyed their trips to Hawaii, was an animal lover, especially dogs and loved camping. He is survived by his wife Barbara whom he married December 4, 1993, 2 daughters Laura ( Terry ) Trigalet, Sandra Stokley, 4 step daughters Tammy ( John ) Koleski, Pam Richards, Sandy ( Jess) Cathey and Dawn ( James ) Thomas. Survivors also include 15 grandchildren , 3 great grandchildren., Brother David ( Sharon ) Stokley. He was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara Meo-King, parents Russell & Frances Stokley and by his brother Richard Stokley.Visitation will be held in the Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton on Friday October 4, 2019 from 11 AM until services at 1 PM. Pastor Charlie Duke of the Lakeview Freewill Baptist Church in Grafton will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Elyria with military honors.
