Gene Raymond Fye, 82, of Lagrange, was reunited with his late wife, Darlene Fye (nee Sot), on August 1st, 2025. Gene was born in Elyria, on August 8th, 1942, the son of Clarence and Marion (nee Sanders) Fye. He was preceded in death by his siblings, John and Gloria Fye.
Gene was a quiet man, embodied by true grit. He was respected, loved, and admired. An incredible neighbor, son, friend, father, and husband. And when this man loved a woman, he cultivated a legacy of seven children: Brian (Tami), Aaron (Carol), Brad, Chris, Matt (Jessika), Rachel (Greg), and James; as well as eight grandchildren: Logan (Haley), Nathan, Aurora, Xavier, Caseabella, Aven, Alyvia, and Henry; and, one great-grandchild, Sophia.
For more than 45 years, he embraced life on the farm, not just raising crops and livestock, but extending time, love, and tenderness to those around him. And even though we cannot turn back time, we will remember him as he was, larger than life, as we tip our hats and hang ‘em high. His legacy will simply state: He was a damn good man.
With all our love, “See you later, Alligator.”
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gene’s life, on Friday, September 5th, 2025, at the Wellington Reservation, 535 Jones Rd, Wellington, Ohio, 44090, from 4-9pm. An internment will be held on Friday, September 5th, 2025, at River Road Cemetery, Indian Hollow Rd, Lagrange, Ohio, at 2 pm.
