Geneva Walton, age 96 of Elyria passed away Thursday May 2, 2024 in the New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain following a short illness. Geneva, also known as Nip, Granny and Great Grandma was born September 16, 1927 to Jessie & Detta Cogar Cool in Webster Springs, West Virginia. Nip spent her younger years performing music with her brother Raymond. Nip married at age 18 to her lifelong husband Charles R. Walton. She spent her life working for Ford & GM before raising her 2 children. She was constantly fiddling with something as she would often say. She enjoyed spending her free time outside gardening, planting and traveling and would ofter revisit Webster Springs where she fondly called " down home ". Nip spent her remaining years laughing and enjoying the company of family at her home. Nip was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles R. Walton, siblings Raymond and June Cool, her son Jimmy and his wife Carol. She is survived by her daughter Teresa and her husband Dwayne Reed, grandchildren Jenna and James Walton , Julie, Chuck and Andy Reed , great grandchildren CJ, Breanna, Elli and Wyatt Reed and Great great grandchild Theo. Services will be held Monday May 6, 2024 at 1 pm in the Cool Cemetery, Laurel Fork, Webster County, West Virginia.
