Gretchen Marian Buckingham, passed away suddenly Saturday December 26, 2020. She was born September 12, 1934 and was a life long Grafton resident. She was a proud graduate of North Ridgeville High School cClass of 1952 and a loyal member of the Grafton VFW Post #3341 for many years. She dedicated her life to taking care of her family. Her passion was playing cards with her family and friends and was an avid gardner and landscaper. She worked her whole life as a bookkeeper and had retired a few years ago. She was an incredible bowler in which she received many awards and was nominated Bowler of the Year in 1969. She loved her cats dearly and is survived by cats Jezzie, Babe, Brother and Cousin. Gretchen is survived by her loving son Michael Vitovitz and his companion Amy Wells and her son Paul, loving daughter Lynn Elwell and companion Dennis Deegan, beloved grandson Ben Elwell and his family Janet & Skylar, beloved granddaughter Marylynn Laing and her family Mitch & Paige. Survivors also include her loving brother Glen Stroud and faamily Kenneth, Laura & Glenda, loving brother-in-law John Vitovitz and Cindy, loving niece Karen Bauer and her son Brad and many loving friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Leon ( Buck ) Buckingham, her loving parents Harvey & Helen Stroud, beloved siblings Brother Donnie and sister Sharon, her husband Frank Vitovitz and his loving companion Norma Oxyer and beloved cats Benjamar and Felix. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service in Belden Cemetery, Grafton Township on Saturday January 2, 2020 at 11 AM with Rev. John Seabold officiating.
