Harry A. Jantz II

Harry (Bud) A. Jantz II, Age 84, of Sullivan, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 23, 2019.

Bud was born January 31, 1934 to Harry and Vivian (Wheeler) Jantz in Elyria, Ohio.

He was a 1951 graduate of Grafton High. Upon graduating, Bud worked for The Ohio Division of Wildlife until joining The United States Navy in 1952 where he proudly served until March of 1954.

During his 30-year career at NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio, Bud lived in Grafton, Ohio with his wife Lola (Richards) and their 2 children.

Upon Lola’s death in 1990, Bud remarried and relocated to a log home in Sullivan, Ohio where he spent the remainder of his life.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Susan (Tran) Jantz; sister, Karely Fullmer; children, Audra (Jeff) Oswald and Kurt (Pamela) Jantz; step-children, Robert Tran and Tammy (Brian) Hildebrandt; grand-children, Emily and Maggie Oswald, Casey and Skylar Hildebrandt, Taylor Tran and Harper Jantz and his nephew Glenn Fullmer.

Bud was proceeded in death by his first wife, parents and his nephew, Bob Fullmer.

Bud was an accomplished taxidermist, carpenter, wood carver, hunter and fisherman. A lifetime member of The NRA, some of his favorite memories included: hunting with Fred Bear, fly-fishing the Au Sable and Manistee Rivers in Michigan and camping in Pennsylvania with his family.

He spent several years as the President of the North Ashland County Wildlife Conservation League. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the league, 447 Township Rd. 150, Sullivan, Ohio 44880 (C/O John Storch) to support causes for which Bud was passionate.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Bud has touched are invited to share their memories on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at The Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main Street, Grafton, Ohio 44044 from 4-7pm, service at 7pm.
