Helen Louise (Tolliver) Clay, 88, of Grafton Ohio passed away peacefully at Life Care Center of Medina on Saturday December 7, 2019. By her side were her son Richard Clay, daughter Mona (Clay) Hayes and nephew Keith Tolliver.
Helen was born the 7th of eleven children to Letha Mae (Milam) Tolliver and Riley Tolliver on November 15, 1931 at Edwight West Virginia.
After falling in love with Kermit Clay they were married on October 5, 1951. A few years later they moved to the Cleveland Ohio area and eventually moved to Grafton, Ohio in 1990. Their marriage lasted 47 years until sadly, Kermit passed away on December 1, 1998.
Following a successful career at Dairy Pak in Olmsted Falls Ohio she retired after 25 years. With a lifelong love of learning, Helen passed the H&R Block tax course and spent many of her later years helping people complete their tax returns. Helen was an avid reader, enjoyed crochet and became an active member of Laporte United Methodist Church for many years.
Preceding her in death are siblings Ethel, Hester (Bobbie), Alfred, Peggy Mae, Carlos, Laura (Lina), Elsie and William.
The funeral service will be held at Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton, Ohio Thursday December 12, 2019 at 7:00 PM. Prior to the funeral will be a visitation from 5-7 PM also at Duke Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to LaPorte United Methodist Church and Hospice of the Western Reserve.
The family wishes to thank Life Care Center of Medina and Hospice of the Western Reserve for the wonderful and compassionate care they gave to Helen during her last days of life.
