Jerl Skidmore

Jerl E. Skidmore, age 89 of LaGrange passed away Monday September 25, 2023 at The Elms Retirement Village in Wellington. He was born January 8, 1934 in Gilmer County, West Virginia. He was a resident of Grafton and LaGrange most of his life.

Jerl worked for many years as a car salesman for various car dealerships as well as owning his own used car dealership. He also was as an excavator for many years; a job he truly loved. He was a member of the Midway Baptist Church in Elyria and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as well as car and tractor shows.

Jerl will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife Marilyn (Schultz) of 28 years, his daughters, Debra (Dale) Foreid, Diana (Kim) Kazmierczak, Darla (Michael) Sager and Deidra Large; stepsons and daughters, Renee Roberts, Mark (Karen) Hibler, Rochelle Hibler, Micah (Hollis Walker) Hibler, Matthan (Molly) Hibler; brother, Charles (Eileen) Skidmore and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Raymond and Nellie (Moss) Skidmore, Brother Otis Skidmore and Sister Pauline Hardman.

Visitation will be on Saturday September 30, 2023 from 11 AM until time of services at 3 PM in the Midway Baptist Church 41812 Griswald Rd. Elyria. Pastor Rick Keesee will officiate. The Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton is handling arrangements.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of givers choice in Jerl’s name.
