Jerry L. Baker, 69, a life-long resident of Elyria, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. He was born May 23, 1956, in Lorain. Jerry attended Elyria West High School. He worked for the Ford Ohio Assembly Plant, in Avon Lake for 32 years before retiring in 2006. Jerry enjoyed going to Dragway 42 to race his 77 Camaro, playing P.I.G. with his grandchildren, making delicious pizza, and had a love/ hate relationship with the Cleveland Browns. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Karen Baker; two children, Jesse Baker (Niena), and Trisha Smith (Chris); five grandchildren, CeCe, David, Sierra, Hunter, and Tristan; three siblings, Steve (Nancy), Debby, and Robin (Rick); his stepmother, Christine Baker; many nieces and nephews; and his best friend Dale. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Janice Baker; and his brother, Terry. The family welcomes family and friends to join them for the memorial service being held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 1pm, at The Vine Community Church, 502 North Center St., Lagrange Ohio, 44050.
