Kenneth Lee Jones Sr.

Kenneth Lee Jones Sr. , age 75 of Wellington passed away in Mercy Allen Hospital on Friday November 16, 2018 following a short illness. He was born March  17, 1943 in Elyria and was a 1961 graduate of Oberlin High School and finished trade school in Braidwood, Illinois at the Greer Technical Institute.  He was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Oberlin and was a 51 year member of the International  Union of Ohio Operating Engineers. His hobbies were working and traveling every year with his family to the AuSable River in Northern Michigan.. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Nancy ( nee Hancock ) Jones, daughters Leanne ( Jay ) Murrillo of Scottsdale, Arizona, Lynne ( Steven ) Knapp of Wellington and by his son Kenneth L. Jones Jr of Wellington. Survivors also include his grandchildren Reece Jones, Jacob Knapp, Grace Knapp and  sister Shirley Law of Henrietta and brother Tom Jones of San Jose,  California. He was preceded in death by his parents Leland and Katherine ) nee Gerhardinger.  A memorial service will be held at the Christ Episcopal Church 162 S. Main St. Oberlin on Monday November 26, 2018 at 11AM with Rev. Brian Wilbert, pastor, officiating. Through his decision  of becoming a tissue and organ donor, Kenneth helped give live to others. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Protective League 8303 Murray Ridge Rd. Elyria, Ohio 44035.
