Lisa Lynn Carter

Ms. Lisa Carter passed away suddenly on Friday March 12, 2021 doing what she loved the absolute most which was teaching and mentoring her students. Lisa was outgoing, compassionate, creative and above all else was the most nurturing soul you could ever meet.  She studied for many years throughout her whole career bettering herself and continuing to evolve and broaden her talents and certifications. she started teaching in 1995 after completing her Master's in Education in under 2 years while pregnant with her daughter and working full time. She began teaching at Ashland University where she obtained her teaching degree. She was passionate about all ages of kids and all backgrounds, she taught K-12 and college courses to support her two children, Alexandra and Cameron Day. Over the years she touched the hearts of so many people, doing anything in her power to help anyone less fortunate than her  or more fortunate than she was.  Lisa also had her principals license , and her dream was to be the principal of her own school where she could ensure that all children got an equal opportunity and had someone to depend on, who would always go that extra mile for any man, woman or child. Lisa had many talents, she sang in choirs all her life, played saxophone in High School and as a Midview Alumni member ( class of 1985 ), she wrote poetry, murder mysteries, wrote and directed her own plays, she did it all. She also enjoyed cross stitch, sewing her own clothes, wood working, archery , reading, gardening and loved her kitties very much. Friends may call in the Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton on Wednesday March 17, 2021 from 6-8 PM where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM. All Covid-19 protocols will be observed including face masks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
