Marilyn "Sue" Ables (nee Starcher) passed away on July 29th, 2023. She was born in Arnoldsburg, WV on April 19, 1943 and was a resident of Elyria since 1960 and Lagrange since 2010. Sue was employed by Industrial Plastics for 25 years before retiring in 2001. She enjoyed frequent trips to her second home in West Virginia known as Deer Camp. Her greatest joy was raising her family, especially her grandkids. She was known affectionately as "Granny" by more than just her own.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Bernard P and her daughter Debora S.
Lowery, brothers Charles Starcher, Jimmy Suttle and parents Leah Suttle and Chester Starcher. Sue is survived by her sons Douglas (Ellen), Michael (Heather) and son-in-law, Michael S. Lowery, grandchildren, Sue Ann (Jarrad), Katherine (Carl), Bailey, Alex, Nicole (Jamie), great grandchildren Carl Ill, Josie, Isaiah, Zachary (Whitney) and great-great grandchildren. Sue is also survived by her sisters Dolores (Carm), Lena (Robert), Irene and brother George as well as many, many extended family members.
Visiting hours will be held at Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton, OH on Wednesday, August 2nd from 4 to 6 p.m. followed by cremation services and burial at a later date. On-line condolences may be left at www.dukefuneralhome.com
