MaryLou (Nanny) Schramm 91 in Wellington passed away March 21, 2026 at home after a long battle with cancer under the New Life Hospice and her caretakers Jerry and Shelley. She was born and Clarksburg Harrison County West Virginia to Roy Phares Edith Gregory Phares on November 21, 1934. In our earlier she worked as a waitress at Gastown and then she was a maid at the Oberlin Inn. And later on she met her second husband Richard( Dick ) Schramm whom she married February 4, 1961. She always enjoyed her little farm. You never knew what she would be having in her backyard, chickens, ducks, pigs, and rabbits. She loved her garden and gardening. She had many cats and dogs throughout her life special her cat named cuddles. She also had her beloved dog at home that was by your side named Cletus and her cat that always laid with her babe. No one was ever a stranger than Nanny. She always had a smile on her face. She could always tell you a story for many years ago. She would always keep your ear full of memories and your heart filled Mary Lou left behind her three children, a daughter, Dalpha Schramm and his son Clayton.( bub) White of Wellington , Joseph Schramm of Wakeman Her grandkids, Marie Schramm, Shelley and Jerry Moon, Wellington, Joseph Schramm Junior, Josh Schramm and Jonathan Schramm, her great grandchildren, Jason Schramm, JerryMoon jr and Jordan, Paige and William Waite, Neal Hergina and Jill Behner and Alex, Valerie and Octavia Her great great grandkids Christina Kayden Gabriel(Gabe) Ayden, Jolene Hazel, Phoebe Ramona She was proceeded in death by her husband of 39 years Richard(Dick) Schramm, her parents Roy and Edith Phares, both her brothers Bob and Chuck Phares, a son, Richard Schramm, and two great granddaughters Andrea and Brooke. Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 25, 2026 from 4 to 8 PM in the Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton where funeral services will be held on Thursday March 26, 2006 at 1 PM with Roger Rice officiating. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery, Oberlin.
