Max A. Kokensparger, age 60 of Brunswick and formerly of Grafton passed away in his home on Wednesday February 19, 2025 following a long illness.
Max was born in Elyria and grew up in the Grafton area, spending his summers at the family cottage in Pennsylvania, and graduated from Midview High School. Following high school, he joined the U.S. Army and proudly served his country where he was stationed in Berlin before the wall came down. Max has spent over the last 20 years working for Owens Corning in Medina. When not at work he enjoyed spending time with his family and relaxing at his cabin in the woods, in Pennsylvania. Max was also a life member of the VFW. Max was preceded in death by his parents, Richard (Dick) and Dora Kokensparger, as well as his brother Roy. He is survived by his life- long companion Julie Butcher, children Cory (Natalie) and Madeline (Mike), grandchildren; Caleb, Peyton, Owen, and another grandson on the way, and his brother Ralph. Max loved his country and proudly flew a flag in his yard till the day that he died. And most importantly, he loved his family. He will be deeply missed. Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 25, 2025 in the Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton from 4 PM until 6 PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 26, 2025 at 10 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Ihor Zhakunets officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Richfield, Ohio.
