Pamela (Pam) Jones (née Moriarty), 55 of Columbia Station passed away early Monday morning at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland, following an almost 2 year battle with cancer.
Pam was born in Niagara Falls, New York. She moved with her family to Lagrange, Ohio as a young girl so her father, George, could persue a job at Ford. Her mother, Edna, stayed home to take care of the family and be an example of the hard working, strong and caring woman that Pam would grow up to be. Later, Pam would marry Tim, the love of her life, and they would have their only child, Stephanie.
Pam was a natural mother, wife, and caregiver. She would always anticipate the needs of her husband and daughter, and could do so even while caring for her grandmother (Granny), mother and father at the end of their lives.
While Pam was an excellent caregiver, she was also so much more. Pam gave everyone she met the same dignity and respect she did her loved ones. The phrase “never met a stranger” almost doesn’t even seem good enough. Pam valued her relationships with everyone, including the ones formed with the students that she bused for Columbia Local Schools. Students would see her and make a point to say hello. Pam made a genuine impact on the lives of strangers and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years Tim, daughter Stephanie (Joey), mother-in-law Shirley, siblings Bob and Patti, step-siblings Kathy (Albert,) Richie (Jen,) and Linda, friends who became family, Mike, Nancy, Jeff, Barb, Butch and Sue, and cherished dogs Bo and Burt. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Edna, step-mother Shirley, brothers-in-law Dean and Mike and a very special Papaw.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family is choosing to have a private gathering with a celebration of life to be announced later. Arrangements are being handled by the Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton.
