It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond Lee Dill on January 15, 2025, one month before his 90th birthday. Ray was born on February 18,1935 in the Village of Amherst, Ohio to Ward and Erma (nee Sanders) Dill. Ray graduated from LaGrange High School and that is where he met his future wife, Patricia. Together, they raised a family of four children. Ray loved the outdoors and spent most of his life working as an Excavating Contractor. He operated heavy construction equipment as he built lakes, ponds, and waterways. When he wasn’t working, Ray could be found running the family farm Ward Dill and Son on Route 303 or at the Lagrange Community Library where he was a member of the organization Friends of the Library. He loved sports, and going to his children and grandchildren’s games and meets. Ray also participated for several years on the zoning board of Lagrange. Raymond is survived by his wife of 69 years Patricia (nee Beane), daughter, Jessica, sons, Gregg, Clay, and Jay, son-in-law Alan Sanders, daughters-in-law, Shari Dill (Gregg), Karen Dill (Clay) and Kristen Dill (Jay); grandchildren, Sarah, Aaron, Audra, Grace, Kyle, Corey, Kara, Cody and Troy; sister Thelma (Dill) Doss. Ray is also survived by several nieces and great grandchildren. Proceeding Ray in death are his father Ward Dill and his mother Erma Dill. Please notate in memory of Ray Dill for the Keystone LaGrange Friends of the Library Private gravesite services were held for the family under the direction of Duke Funeral Home in Grafton, Ohio. Ray’s final resting place will be at the River Road Cemetery in LaGrange.
