Rosa L. Meade

Rosa Profitt Meade was born October 4, 1931 in Millstone, KY to her mom and dad, Rebecca (Fulton) & Joe Profitt. She passed away at her home in Cleveland, OH, surrounded by her family on April 3, 2023.

She met and married the love of her life, Herbert Meade, on August 7, 1951 and they spent 37 happy years together. In 1953, they moved to Cleveland, OH for work and raised their family there. In addition to her parents and husband, Rosa was preceded in death by her daughter, Barb Rose and her son, Herb Meade. She didn’t want to bury any more of her children.

Preceded in death by her sisters, Virgina Profitt and Ruby Meade (her twin) and brothers, Fernoy, Willard and Joe Jr. Profitt.

She was survived by her daughter Ruby (Bob) Settlemyer, her sons Dave and Joe Meade and son-in-law, Bruce Rose. She’s also survived by her 4 grandchildren, Sherri (Scott) Anderson, Penny (Jason) Warner, Angela & Mark Rose, as well as 5 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew and Secili Milum, Sierra McGuire and Mark Rose Jr. Also, surviving Sister Rosa are her sister Mary (Lowell) Chambers, Themla (Dennis) Trosper and brother Conard (Carolyn) Profitt and a host of nieces and nephews.

The joy of her life was taking care of her family. Sundays were spent with all that could gather at her home for dinner and family time. Rosa enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, quilting and working puzzles. Every moment of her life was focused on serving others.

Rosa joined the Elizabeth Old Regular Baptist Church in Millstone, KY in October, 1968, and was baptized by Elder Felix Sexton. She brought her letter to the Pleasant View Old Regular Baptist Church in Litchfield, OH, on December 1, 2001, to be near her home. She was a faithful member and attended church as long as she was physically able. One of her last wishes was for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to know Jesus. She had bibles purchased for all of them in hopes that they would read it and follow His teachings. Friends and family mall call in the Pleasant View Old Regular Baptist Church 3589 Beat Rd. Litchfield, Ohio on Wednesday April 5, 2023 from 4 PM until 8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning April 5, 2023  at 11 AM in the church with Elders of the Church officiating. Burial will be in River Road Cemetery, LaGrange Township. Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton is handling the arrangements.
