Ruth E. Burt

Ruth E. Burt, age 95 of Grafton passed away unexpectedly  Thursday September 14, 2023 in the Avenue at Ridgeville Center. She was born November 16, 1927 in Shawnee, Ohio and had lived in Grafton since 1945. She was a member of Cavalry Baptist Church for many years. She was also involved with the RSVP Senior Group, Adventures Senior Group. Ruth worked for The Elyria Telephone Company for 20 years, worked the switchboard at Elyria Memorial Hospital for 20 years, and tutored at Crestwood School in Elyria. She enjoyed reading, animals and her grandchildren. She is survived by her sons Paul of Kipton, Donald of Grafton and by 9 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Husband Donald C. Burt in 1991, sons David Burt and Rick Burt , her parents Samuel & Lela McGrew, brothers Sam, Carl and by her sisters Mildred and Mary. Friends may call in the Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton on Wednesday September 20, 2023 from 11:30 am until services at 12:30 with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens , Avon. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's memory may be made to the APL.
