Ruth F. Hess

Ruth Faye Hess (nee Woodring) of Grafton, passed away at home on August 31, 2019, with her family by her side. She was born November 3, 1935, in Daisytown, Pa.

Ruth graduated from California High School in 1953. She graduated from Washington Hospital School of Nursing in 1956, where she earned her degree as a Registered Nurse.

Ruth enjoyed taking care of her Grandchildren, working on puzzles, bowling, golf, gambling, the Cleveland Indians, (her favorite player was Francisco Lindor), sunflowers and “Making a New Friend Every Day.”

She is survived by Daughters, Nora Bechtold (Ed Anderson); Sara Lewis (Alan); Grandchildren, Andrew, Grace and Allison.

She was preceded in death by her husband  Ronald, in 1992 and parents Harold and Elizabeth Woodring.

The family would like to express their gratitude to her caregivers at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Westlake along with all who shared a smile and a kind wish throughout the years.

Friends may call Thursday September 5th, 2019, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main St., Grafton for visitation, a brief service will immediately follow. Friends and family are also invited to meet at Duke Funeral Home, Friday Sept. 6, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. for a short prayer service followed by a burial service at Resurrection Cemetery, Valley City, Ohio.
