Susan Brewer went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 18th. Sue has been battling an intense illness for a very long time. It was time for her to depart to heaven and be with her mother [Myra Hargett], father [Talmadge Hargett], sister and mother in many ways [Freda Johnson], best friend [Shar], brother-in-law [Warren Brewer], sister-in-law [Mahalia Mullins], Nephew [Joshua Brewer], niece [Lynna Brewer], and mother-in-law [Rachel Brewer]. Sue is survived by her husband of 47 years and forever soul mate Joseph Brewer, son Joseph “Henry” Brewer, daughter Tabitha (Jen) Mullins, son Jeremy (Mamie) Brewer, daughter Anna (Mariah) Boone/Brewer, and daughter (Rachel Brewer). She will be leaving behind eighteen grandchildren, Nathan (Luna and to be named daughter on-the-way), Edwin, Bella, Angel, Tyler, Nick, Andy, Danielle, Kaitlynne, Abigail, Travis, Matthew, Ben, Willow, Leah, and Emma. She was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, siblings, and so many others that her life touched. All who had the privilege of knowing Sue knew that she was the most selfless and kind-hearted person that they would ever be lucky enough to know. She would give everything she had to make sure that her children were taken care of. She loved talking on the phone with her sister-in-law Roxie (Blue) Brewer. She loved going to the casino and playing the lottery. She found joy in her children and grandchildren as they all know. Sue always said she “wanted to go to heaven and wash the Lord’s feet”. She also said “don’t feel sad when I’m gone because I am not in that body hurting or suffering anymore. I will be with the Lord.” No one can ever be prepared to lose a person as amazing as Sue, but we may all take comfort in knowing that her tremendous amount of pain is no more. She will live happily with her family and the Lord until we are all blessed enough to join her. This is not goodbye…. this is “I know you will be watching over me and I will see you soon.” Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Monday July 25, 2022 from 11 AM until services at 1 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Grafton. Further information will be announced.
