Susan A. Jantz

Susan Ann Jantz, 78, of Ashland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2023 surrounded by family after enduring a short-term illness.

Susan was born on June 21, 1944, in Norwalk, Ohio; to the late Paul and Betty Johannsen and step-mother Maybelle Johannsen. She attended public school in Tampa, Florida and graduated from cosmetology school in 1966.

On August 11, 1964 Susan was united in marriage to James Tran of Grafton, Ohio. Though this relationship wasn’t permanent, they did have 2 children together and remained friends afterwards.

In 1992, Susan married Harry Jantz of Grafton, Ohio. Susan and Harry relocated to Sullivan, Ohio where they spent the next 26 years. Susan was a beautician for more than 35 years and enjoyed traveling with Harry and her friends, family holidays and cocker spaniels. In 2019, Harry passed away from a short-term illness and Susan relocated to Ashland, Ohio. Upon moving to Ashland, Susan became an active member of the Ashland Church of Christ.

She is survived by her brother William Johannsen; children, Tammy (Brian) Hildebrandt, Robert Tran; step-children, Audra (Jeff) Oswald and Kurt (Pamela) Jantz; grandchildren, Casey (Curtis) Paramore, Skylar Hildebrandt, Taylor Tran, Emily and Maggie Oswald, Harper Jantz; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Family, friends and others whose lives Susan has touched are invited to visitation on Friday March  31, 2023 at The Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main Street, Grafton, Ohio 44044 from 5 Pm -8 PM, . Funeral services in the funeral home will be on Saturday April 1, 2023 at 11 AM. Burial will be in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Township.
