Terry David Kilgore, 72, of Elyria, Ohio passed away March 27, 2019 surrounded by family and friends, following a short illness.
Terry was a member of the Elyria VFW Post 1079 where he served as a member of the Honor Guard, as well as a lifetime member of the Elyria Amvets. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1965-1967 and was a Vietnam Veteran. He served on the Village of Grafton Police Department's Auxiliary and was their Bailiff since 2002.
Terry was a sweet, funny, and kind man who was loved by many and always had a story to tell.
Terry was married to his soul mate and best friend, Sandra, for 51 years. He was a loving father to 3 sons, grandfather of 5, and great-grandfather of 1.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra (nee Siek), sons Brian (Cindy) of Elyria, Todd (Kim) of Elyria, and Scott (Lora) of Grafton, grandchildren Jennie Callahan, Aaron (Kelsie), Devinn, Cassie, and Brandon, and great-grandson Joshua, sisters Sally Dietlin (Danny) of Amherst, and Robin Zsigray (Jim) of Leitchfield, Kentucky, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many who were like children to him.
He was proceeded in death by his dad, Richard, mom, Lois, sisters Gwen Elliott and Diane Reitz, and a daughter-in-law, Brenda.
Friends will be received on Sunday, March 31st from 2-5 pm at Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main St., Grafton, Ohio with a service following at 5 pm. Burial will be at Nesbett cemetery in Grafton with a military service at a future date to be announced by family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in his name or to the family to help with expenses.
