Vanessa Dale Martin

Vanessa Martin, age 70  passed away Thursday August 29,2024 in Avon Cleveland Clinic following a long illness. She was born September 26, 1953 in Martin, Kentucky and had lived most of her life in the Lorain County area. She had retired from Glidden Paint in Cleveland, Ohio and enjoyed making hundreds of blankets for her family and friends. They got just as much enjoyments as she did making them. She was an avid Cleveland Sports fan and the Kentucky Wildcats. She is survived by her daughter Melissa ( Joseph ) Morrell of Lorain, 2 step daughters  Lynne Barker of Wellington and Lora Martin of Lorain. Survivors also include her brother Tim ( Maryl ) Hall of North Ridgeville and by one grandchild on the way. Vanessa was preceded in death by her husband Wayne D. Martin in February 2024 , her parents Harlos & Wanda ( Nee Allen ), brother Eldon Hall and by sister Sabrina Burnett. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Friday September 6, 2024 in the Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton where funeral services will be held Saturday September 7, 2024 at 10 AM with Elder Dennis Elkins of the True Vine Old Regular Baptist Church officiating. Committal service will be held Monday September 9, 2024 at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery 10175 Rawiga Rd. Seville, Ohio 44273 at 12:15 PM SHARP.  Please meet at the cemetery.
