Virginia G. Hosey

Virginia Grace Hosey, 94, of North Ridgeville died September 1, 2024 at the home of her daughter after a lengthy illness. She was born August 7, 1930 in West Virginia to Elkie and Gladys Beane, moved to Ohio at age 8 and lived in Belden most of her life. Virginia graduated from Belden High School in 1948 and Oberlin Business College. On August 21, 1954, She married Dorsey Hosey at Belden United Methodist Church where she was a lifelong member. Virginia, along with Dorsey raised two daughters and spent her career in banking at Lorain County Savings and Trust, retiring from same in 1992 after it became Premier Bank. She served as the treasurer of her church for many years. Her hobbies included cooking, baking and sewing. She is survived by her daughters, Terri (Gary) Gibbons of North Ridgeville with whom she made her home for the last ten years and Brenda (Ben) Petsy of Canton, grandchildren Jared (Jenna) Petsy of Chicago, Jordan Petsy of New York City and Eric Gibbons of Elyria, brother Gerald (Nomi) Beane of California and her longtime caregiver Melissa Cruz (our angel). She was preceded in death by her husband Dorsey in 2009, an infant granddaughter Spencer Noelle Gibbons in 1991 and her sister Muriel Hosey in 2022. Visitation will be on September 16, 2024 at Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main St, Grafton from 10 am until the time of services at 12 noon by Pastor David Walker of Belden United Methodist Church followed by burial in the Belden Cemetery.
