Wanda Gates

 Wanda (Michalski) Gates, age 100, of LaGrange, Ohio, passed away at her home on Saturday afternoon, September 13, 2025.
            Wanda was born in Canton, Ohio on June 5, 1925 to parents Kostanty and Katoreyna (Kluba) Michalski, both of Poland. She resided in Northeastern Ohio the entirety of her life, spending some winters, along with her husband, in their second home in Key Largo, Florida. Wanda turned her passions for numbers and organization into a career in bookkeeping, later working alongside her husband at Gates Construction Company.
            She is preceded in death by her parents, husband - Donald Frederick Gates, brother - Alvin Michalski, and son - Donald Frank Gates (survived by spouse - Linda).
            She is survived by her daughter - Janice (Gates) Melbar (spouse Don deceased), grandchildren – Jennifer, Timothy, and Laura, great-grandchildren – Lincoln and Audrey, as well as extended family, many friends and “Wanda Fan Club” members.
            Wanda will be laid to rest at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Grafton, Ohio at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025.
