It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wesley Travis Bruner, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, who left this world on January 23, 2024 unexpectedly at University Hospital in Elyria from cardiac complications. Wes, aged 47, was born on June 21, 1976, in Grafton, Ohio, where he grew up surrounded by the love and support of his family, friends, and community.
Wes is survived by his soulmate of 24 years, Desirae Ann Bruner (married July 29, 2006), their amazing sons, Rylee Travis and Carson Lee, his parents, Hank and Diann Bruner, his Mother and Father-in-Law, Gary and Sharon Wells, and a brother-in-law, Gary Wells Jr., his sister’s, Amanda Dame (Bruner) and Molly Stout (Bruner), his four nieces and nephews; Zoey and Luke Stout, and Voss and Harlow Dame.
Wes was a remarkable individual with an infectious zest for life. He possessed a genuine warmth that touched the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. With his charming smile and kind nature, Wes had a way of making everyone feel important and valued. He had an unwavering commitment to helping others and was always ready to lend a helping hand when needed.
Outside of work as owner of Bruner Concrete and Hardscapes, Wes had a multitude of interests and hobbies that brought him immense joy, everything from bee keeping and fishing to Jeepin’ and building their cabin in West Virginia. Above all, Wes cherished and treasured his wife, Desirae and their ever-evolving life together.
In his memory, Wesley leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion. Though he may no longer be with us, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
“He was the calm to my storm.” - Desirae Ann Bruner
