William "Bill" David Wilson was born in Oakhill, WV on May 31, 1937 and died on October 7, 2022, in his Columbus Station, OH home of 56 years. He was surrounded by family who loved and adored him.
He provided for his family through hard work and dedication, retiring from Ford Motor Company after 40 years of service. He loved to hunt and fish, teaching generations of sons and grandsons how to skin a squirrel, bait a hook, hike a knoll, and so much more. He told the best stories, often taking hours to finish due to the hysterical laughter that ensued and many times you would forget the beginning of the story by the time he reached the end. He expressed the love he had for his wife and family through his endless jokes, captivating stories, and quick wit.
He was married to Beverly (Neal) for 64 years and together they built a uniquely beautiful family which included five children:
Beverly Alt (Richard) Elyria
William Wilson Jr (Rachel) New London
Percy Wilson (Judy) Grafton
Lisa Wilson (Chris Lovell) Columbia Station
Tina King (Dave Fry) Loundonville
He was admired and adored by his 11 grandchildren and their spouses, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all who knew him as "Pop."
William was preceded in death by his parents Percy and Daisy (Shieler) Wilson, brothers Earl, Phillip, and Dennis, sisters Margaret Ratliff, Thelma Ratliff and Rudell Wilson.
Per his request there will be no service. Arrangements are being handled by the Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton.
