About Us

Our History

The Duke Funeral Home began its chapter in history as the Russell D. Fulton Funeral Home in 1939. The Blackburn family moved to Grafton in 1960 and purchased the funeral home in 1979. They maintained and operated the original facilities as the Blackburn Funeral Home and the new building was opened to the community in 1995 when the Duke family became part of the funeral home staff. The new facilities, located across Main Street from the original funeral home, is completely handicapped accessible and can seat up to 250 guests. The funeral home adopted the name Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home as the result of the purchasing of the funeral home by David Blackburn & Charlie Duke in 2003. In May of 2018, the Duke Family bought the funeral home and it became Duke Funeral Home.
